The km limit, for outstation trips
This is the term that matters most for a road trip. Ask whether the limit is per day or counted over the whole rental, and what extra km cost.

Where you can drive, and permits
Ask whether Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland are allowed, and who sorts out the permits.

One-way drops
Ask early if you want to finish somewhere other than Guwahati.
Ours: pickup and drop are in Guwahati, or at Guwahati airport on request, so plan the trip as a loop. Need a one-way journey? A car with a driver can do one-way drops.
The deposit
Ours: there's no security deposit on the car. We take a deposit covering the full tank of fuel, settled when you return.
Seats and luggage
A 7-seater sounds like room for seven and their bags; in practice, a full car leaves little space for luggage. Plan for fewer passengers on a long trip with suitcases.

Pickup, the airport and hours
Ours: pickup is at our Maligaon location, 12 km from the airport, from 7 AM; a late-night pickup can be arranged on request. On request, we hand the car over at Guwahati airport and collect it there when you fly out, for an extra fee. See rental near Guwahati airport.
The check at pickup
Walk round the car with the rental before you leave: scratches, dents, tyres, the spare and the tools. Take photos. Damage is settled at the return check, so this protects you.
