Take any of our rentals across Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) for Indian visitors, and we help you apply for it. Visitors from abroad need a Protected Area Permit (PAP) for those two states instead; we can help arrange it on request.

Bike or scooty?
- Scooty (Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid Street Rally, from ₹799/day): Guwahati, Shillong and the Meghalaya loops, if you travel light and take the climbs slowly.
- Bike (Yamaha FZ-S FI V2, ₹999/day): long days, riding two-up, and the high roads to Tawang, Ziro and Kohima.
Four classic Northeast rides
- Meghalaya loop, 5–7 days: Shillong, Cherrapunji, Dawki and Mawlynnong, back to Guwahati.
- Tawang, 7–9 days: Bhalukpong, Bomdila, Dirang and the Sela Tunnel, with a rest day each way.
- Kaziranga and Majuli, 5–6 days: rhinos, then the river island by ferry.
- Kohima, 5–7 days: the Hornbill Festival in December, via Dimapur.
Before you set off
- Fair-use limit: 300 km a day, averaged over the rental. Hill days are usually far less.
- Helmet included; bring riding gloves and rain gear.
- Fill up whenever you pass a pump in Arunachal; pumps are far apart.
- Ride in daylight only on hill roads.

Can I take a rented bike from Guwahati on a trip across the Northeast?

How much does a bike cost for a week?
The Yamaha FZ-S FI V2 is ₹6,294 for 7 days and ₹12,587 for 14 days, with 10% off the daily rent for 7 days or more. A scooty starts at ₹5,034 a week.
Can I ride a scooty to Tawang?
We'd suggest a geared bike for Tawang: it's about 480 km with long climbs to the Sela Tunnel. Scooters are fine for Shillong and most of Meghalaya.
Do I need a permit for a Northeast bike trip?
Only for Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland: an Inner Line Permit for Indian visitors and a Protected Area Permit for visitors from abroad. We help you apply when you book.
